In 2019, we were approached by Toronto’s enormously popular One Of A Kind Show to design and art direct a handful of activation spaces within the Enercare Centre venue.

The largest space was the Exhibitor Competition, sponsored by Penguin Books, located adjacent to the entrance in the centre of the Show floor. The area served to showcase special creations submitted by various Makers who designed their submissions around the specific theme of penguins. Utilizing a conservative budget and existing materials (for both environmental and budgetary reasons), we created a striking and immersive walk-through winter wonderland featuring a forest of trees and snow, framed beautifully by curated platforms and panels of artisan works, all surrounding a 30' tall Christmas tree.

In the Guest Services Lounge we incorporated a large-scale custom colouring wall and provided markers so that guests could complete the mural themselves throughout the duration of the show. Bringing that canvas to life was a big hit with attendees of all ages while the idea of people gathering to create something unique aligned perfectly with the spirit of the Show itself.

In the end, the One Of A Kind Show organizers and attendees were delighted with the results and the overall feedback praised the departure from the look and style of previous years's Shows. It was also the start of a terrific new client relationship for us as we were asked to extend our role for future shows and to continue to raise the creative bar.
