When The Bay was looking to showcase their website TheBay.com, they turned to us to create an immersive pop-up retail experience at Stackt Market in Toronto for the holiday shopping season. Shoppers were greeted with a unique, digitally-integrated shop that brought to life The Bay’s Holiday gift guide. Built to encourage discovery and inspiration, The Bay at Stackt was designed to feel like stepping into TheBay.com ‘in real life’, inspired by their holiday campaign commercial.

To draw attention from the outside, a multi-width video tile installation was created inside the existing shipping container space, displaying a simple animation of the classic HBC stripes, in random passing movement from end to end. The intention was to bring the stripes to life in a striking, yet subtle way, all while maintaining visibility into the shop.

The interior of the space featured an end-to-end backlit shelving display, reflected in The Bay's holiday campaign, with a video tile wall to promote the holiday campaign and other relevant content. Down the centre, a simple and classic custom display counter was built as a place to connect and converse. The overall core idea was to ultimately create a space that could easily transition from one activation theme to another, by seamlessly switching out video content and quicly adopting a fresh colour scheme in a short timeframe.
